WALA:Easter being the greatest feast in the liturgical year.

Easter is the greatest feast in the Church's Litiurgical Year because it celebrates Jesus rising from the dead with new life and dying on the cross for us.

The Easter candle is lit at every celebration of the Eucharist during the fifty days of the Easter season from Easter Sunday until Pentecost Sunday.

The five grains of incense on the Easter candle represent the wounds that Jesus suffered on Easter friday. The crown of thorns, the nails and the spear wounds.

The Alpha and Omega symbols are the first and last letters of the greek alphabet. They remind people that the Risen Jesus is the beginning and the end of all time and that all praise belongs to him forever.

The light reminds of the Risen Christ who is the light of the world.
